The authors analyzed the relationship among bark content, defibrator energy consumption and fiber quality based on statistical data obtained from a fiberboard production line. The results showed that defibrator energy consumption decreased and classification value increased at the beginning and then decreased as the ratio of bark to poplar decreased. For the fiberboard used for packaging and flooring, reasonable percentage of bark content was 16%and 14%,respectively,which ensured low production cost and higher fiber quality.
