The thermally modified timber industry has been well developed in Europe and a relatively matured industrial system has been built.Academic forces,enterprises and governments in Europe have made their own contributions to technology development,product manufacturing,standardization and quality certification toward advancing the thermal modification technology.Finnish Thermowood technology is one of the most successful examples in terms of technology industrialization.In order to develop thermal modification timber industry in China,it is necessary to learn more from the Europe by carrying out more cooperation among enterprises,research organizations and educational organizations and by promoting production standardization and quality certification.
