In chambers for accelerated testing formaldehyde emissions from wood-based panels, temperature was indirectly regulated by water circulation.Due to non-linearity,time delay and time variation of the temperature control,it was hard to build a precise mathematical model for the process.A fuzzy adaptive Proportion-Integration-Differentiation(PID)controller was designed and developed,which could automatically adjust the PID parameters and to adapt changing arguments in the controlled process.Compared with conventional PID control algorithms,the control effect of a fuzzy-PID algorithm could greatly improve system stability,responding speed,overshoot and steady state accuracy.
