Nano-montmorillonite(NMMT)was added to bamboo flour(BF)to improve the properties of a bamboo-plastic composite made with high density polyethylene(HDPE)combined with BF and NMMT.The results showed that the water absorption and adsorption of the resulting composite decreased and modulus of elasticity,modulus of rupture,tensile strength and impact strength all increased as the NMMT percentage increased from 0to 4% but then decreased as further amounts of NMMT were added.However,thermal stability of the composite continued to improve as the percentage of NMMT increased.
