Extractives from 7 plantation softwood species( Pinus massoniana,P.elliottii,P.taeda,P.yunnanensis,Larix olgensis,L.kaempferi,Cunninghamia lanceolata )were investigated. The results indicated that:1)hot water extractives from the 7 species ranged between 2 24% and 9 39% with L.kaempferi the highest;2)content of 1% NaOH extractives from the 7 species ranged between 11 8% and 18 00% with L.olgensis the highest;3)content in bezene alcohol extractives from the 7 species ranged between 1 67% and 2 90% with Cunninghamia lanceolata the highest;4)extractives from jurenile wood were higher than those from mature wood in all these 7 species;5)there was an inverse relationship between bezene alcohol extractives and permeability in all these 7 species.
