In peeling process,it is important to fix the turning center of bolts by measuring outlines and sizes of each bolt so that the veneer yield could be optimized.Measuring system of computerized laser scanners proved capable to make dynamic measuring,data processing and geometric pattern available.The system discussed in this paper was to set 5～7 laser scanners along lengthwise direction of a bolt.When the bolt was turning driven by power unit,the laser scanners made data measured.In each cross section,24 data were measured,which means one data for turning 15° could be collected.Then the data were processed by a computer and the distances from the turning axis to each measuring point of the bolt surface were calculated.At last,the data were transformed and an outline of the cross section of the bolt were developed on computer screen accordingly.The test results showed that the measurement accuracy of the system could reach ±1 mm.
