This paper discussed lengthwise scarf jointing technique for veneers peeled from several domestic wood species commonly used for making plywood.Experimental results showed that the veneers 1 mm thick or thicker could be lengthwise scarf jointed.Suitable slope of the scarf jointing was 3°～5°. Scarf joints had little effect on mechanical and physical properties of plywood made from the veneer.The scarf jointed veneers were good for making plywood used for concrete formworks,structure and surface finishing.The jointed veneer was suitable for conventional plywood production.
