In order to develop new decorative overlaying materials in replace of sliced veneerof natural precious species,the technology of making fancy veneer from lauan,poplar andbirch et al.was studied,and the processing parameters of bleaching,dyeing,as well asglueing were also determined.According to the study,rotary veneers were dyed and assembedin imitation of colour and grain of nature teakwood,then glued under high MC(20%～30%)by special adhesive developed in this study. The test results showed that the properties ofwater- resistance,light fastness and bond- strength of the fancy veneer were quite satisfied.
