      Wood Supramolecular Science:Scientific Significance and Prospects
      摘要:In this paper, the development of wood and supramolecular science is reviewed. The emerging application of supramolecular disciplines in the field of wood science is summarized. The concept of wood supramolecular science is newly introduced with discussions on the definition, framework, research principles, research contents, and industry applications. Furthermore, the future trend in wood supramolecular science is presented.

      Research Review of Photo Discoloration Mechanism and Prevention for Thermally Modified Wood
      摘要:Due to the effects of oxygen, water, light, and other environmental factors, the thermally modified wood is prone to photo discoloration. The photo discoloration significantly affects the appearance of thermally modified wood. Studies on the mechanism of photo discoloration and the prevention methods play an important role in the targeted modification and the extension of the service life. In this paper, the color changes of thermally modified wood during the aging process were summarized, as well as the degradation reactions of chemical components. In addition, the prevention methods of photo discoloration were reviewed from three aspects: reflection, ultraviolet absorption, and free radical absorption/destruction. Finally, prominent problems were analyzed and suggestions were proposed to provide reference for improving the sustainable application of thermally modified wood.

      Review on Mat-Forming Technology and Machinery of Medium Density Fiberboard
      摘要:The mat-forming is an important process in the industrial production of medium density fiberboard (MDF). In order to review the mechanical structures and quality control of MDF mat-forming technology, technical characteristics and existed problems were expounded with seven aspects including the fiber measuring chute, the mechanical forming head, leveling roll and sweeping roll mechanism, the forming belt, the weight control, the synchronous control system of the continuous precompression and prepressing height lifting, and the synchronous speed control. The development trend of the pavement forming technology for the industrialization was pointed out to provide references for the research and innovative design of MDF mat-forming technology.

      Wood Residual Management Method in Sawmilling Section of Mass Customized Furniture Manufacturing
      摘要:The effective management and reuse of wood residual is an important step to improve the utilization rate of raw materials in the mass customized furniture industry. In the present situations the majority of the raw material residual is generated in the sawing process. To solve the existing problems in the management of wood residual in the furniture manufacturing, combining with the information system of the enterprises, a management method of the synchronization of wood residual data and logistics is proposed. By coding the wood residual classifications, integrated with the information interaction between ERP and MES, and RFID technology, the wood residual data is collected and processed. The logistics flow and real-time information of wood residual are monitored, therefore an efficient storage system and maximized reuse of wood residual are achieved.

      Identification and Comparison of Seven “Walnut Woods”
      摘要:“Walnut wood” is a popular material for furniture making. This article lists seven commonly known “walnut woods” in the market. The comparative macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of the different “walnut woods” are described, in order to generalize the identification traits of these woods. It helps consumers and industry practitioners to quickly distinguish these “walnut woods”. It is helpful to set regulations of the timber market and manage the timber trade environment.

      Fractal Characteristics of Kaiser Point Acoustic Emission Signal in Wood Damage
      摘要:To understand the Kaiser effect of the wood component under repeated loading, the Felicity ratio was used to identify the high and low loading states. The fractal characteristics of Kaiser point under different loading were characterized by the correlation dimension of the acoustic emission (AE) signal. Firstly, when the frequency was 500 kHz, the AE signals of the wood specimens were collected under repeated loading, where the load interval was set to 300 N. Then, according to the noise signal, the threshold of AE ringing was set as 48 dB, and the “obvious” AE signal was defined based on American Council for Acoustic Emission Testing of Reinforced Plastics criterion. The Felicity ratio was calculated to calibrate the load stages corresponding to Kaiser and Felicity effects. Finally, the correlation dimension D of AE signal at Kaiser point was calculated through G-P algorithm as the identification index of Kaiser point at different stages. The results showed that the high and low loading states could be clearly distinguished by the Felicity ratio. There was a significant difference in the correlation dimension D of AE signal at the Kaiser point of Kaiser and Felicity effects. During the Kaiser effect stage, the D value varied from 0.8346 to 1.4895, while after the transition to the Felicity effect stage, the D value varied from 1.7038 to 3.6602.

      Effect of Delignification on the Packaging Efficiency and Thermal Properties of Wood-based Composite Phase Change Heat Storage Materials
      摘要:In order to investigate the effect of delignification on the pore structure of balsa (Ochroma pyramidale) wood flour and the packaging efficiency of phase change materials, a composite phase change heat storage material was prepared by encapsulating polyethylene glycol in delignified balsa wood flour using the vacuum impregnation method. The effects of delignification on the pore structure and packaging efficiency were analyzed by SEM, BET, FTIR and DSC, respectively. The results showed that the mesopores increased and the pore structure improved after delignification. The packaging efficiency of phase change heat storage materials increased to 75.1%. The melting temperature was 53.3 ℃ and the latent heat was 137.8 J/g. The phase change heat storage material showed a good thermal reliability after the thermal cycle experiment.

      Structure and Properties of Microwave Puffed Mongolian Scotch Pine Wood Filled with Epoxy Resin
      摘要:The microwave puffed Mongolian scotch pine samples were impregnated with the epoxy resin in a vacuum environment. The changes of the morphology, chemical structure, thermal stability, and mechanical properties of the samples before and after the filling were investigated. The results showed that the resin was mainly filled in the macroscopic cracks and several cell lumens on both sides of the puffed wood. A small amount of resin was filled in the cell cavities of the late wood. A partially connected polymer resin skeleton structure was formed in the puffed wood. After being filled with the epoxy resin, the volume of microwave puffed samples increased by 1.61%; the density increased by 97.37%; the thermal stability was improved; T-5% decomposition temperature increased by 23.18 ℃; the maximum decomposition rate increased by 11.08 ℃; the hardness, compressive strength, elastic modulus, and the static intensity increased by 34.38%, 48.74%, 12.96%, and 11.38% higher than control sample, respectively. Microwave puffed Mongolian scotch pine wood filled with epoxy resin also had good aesthetic textures. This study provides a new idea for the integrated application of the plantation wood.

      Co-crosslinking of Soybean Adhesive Blending with Urea-Epoxy-Polyamidoamine Epichlorohydrin Resin
      摘要:A low-cost, formaldehyde-free, and reactive incremental modifier, the urea-epoxy resin(code name: HN), which was made from urea and epoxy monomer, was blended with the crosslinker polyamidoamine epichlorohydrin (PAE) resin to produce the soybean adhesive. FTIR and TGA analyses indicated that HN resin effectively co-crosslink with PAE resin. The blended HN-PAE resin react with active groups from the soybean protein, by which improved the thermal stability of the soybean adhesive. Based on the plywood property evaluation, the preferable content ratio of resin HN and soybean flour were optimized, when the HN-PAE resin(HN mass fraction was 70%) solution was diluted to 6%, and the relative dosage of soybean flour was 30%~35%, the bonding strength of Type II plywood made with the optimized soybean adhesive fully met the requirements of China National Standard GB/T 9846—2015"Plywood for general use".

      Algorithm of Machine Vision System for Detecting Holes in Furniture Panel
      摘要:In order to measure the hole position in the furniture panel with the high precision, a machine vision onset detection method was proposed in the paper. After the image denoising which is done by the pixel value filter and distance correlation filter it was adaptive binarized. Then the image is processed by the secondary hole localization algorithm. By fine-tuning the hole position close to the real round hole, it solve the position extraction of common distorted holes and provide support for the progress of circular hole position onset measurement technology. The experiment results showed that using the algorithm in this paper, the average value of 4 056 circular holes in 1 022 furniture panels is 100.05 mm and the standard deviation is 0.041 mm with 5 repetitions. Within the error range of ±0.5 mm, the coincidence degree of the ergonomic measurement of the X-coordinate of the hole center is 99.8%, and the coincidence degree of the Y-coordinate is 92.9%.

      Design and Performance Analysis of a Wood Detachable Oval Mortise-and-Tenon Joint
      摘要:A detachable solid wood oval mortise-and-tenon joint strengthened by hardware connectors was designed in order to enable the disassembling of the joint in this study. The tensile and bending tests were conducted to evaluate the mechanical behavior and failure modes of typical and detachable T-shaped joints. The results indicated that the average tensile capacity of the detachable joints was 5 614.61 N, which is 230% higher than the typical joint. However, the mean breaking moment and the average stiffness coefficients were decreased by 48.6% and 45.6%, respectively. Generally, the strength of the detachable joint meets the application requirements of the wood product joint on the premise of retaining the appearance and enabling disassembly. This research provides the basic methodology for further development of the detachable hidden hardware connectors of wood furniture joints.

      Finite Element Analysis on Extrusion Flow Field of Wood Plastic Composites
      摘要:Wood plastic composites were manufactured at different screw speeds and mold temperatures. The rheological parameters of different processing steps were obtained by the rotating rheometer. The influence of extrusion process on the flow field was simulated and analyzed by Polyflow finite element analysis software. The results showed that with the increase of the screw speed, the pressure field fluctuated and increased significantly, and velocity and shear rate field of the die increased significantly. The viscosity field decreased gradually. The pressure is relatively stable when the screw speed is 20 r/min. The pressure field decreased when the mold temperature increased. However, the mold temperature had a little effect on the velocity and the shear rate field. The finite element analysis findings were basically consistent with the experimental results.

      Manufacturing Technology of Molded Bamboo-Particle Pallet from Residues
      摘要:Using diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and urea-formaldehyde resin (UF) as adhesives, bamboo residues were used to manufacture molded pallets. The results showed that within a certain hot-pressure range, the mechanical properties of the molded pallets increased with the increasing of the hot pressure. When applying MDI in the molded pallets, it was suggested to control the resin content to avoid the excessive glue overflow. When applying UF in the molded pallets, it was beneficial to molding and the appearance properties to a certain degree by increasing the resin content. The optimized process includes 10% of shavings moisture content, 6% of the MDI content, 21 MPa of hot-pressing pressure, and 125 ℃ of hot-pressing temperature. The performance of the molded pallets prepared with MDI met the requirements of the GB/T 41231—2021 "General specification for moulded pallets with bamboo and wood particles". At the conditions of 4.5% of shavings moisture content, 20% of UF resin content, 21 MPa of hot-pressing pressure, and 125 ℃ of hot-pressing temperature, the performance of the molded pallets prepared with UF resin did not meet the requirements of GB/T 41231—2021, it was suggested to optimize the preparation process after modify the UF resin.
