摘要:The author reviewed present situation of scale, properties, processing technology and existing problems of imported timber to China, like Radiata pine and Mahogany timber. Related research and development progress was presented and suggestions were provided to improve quality and efficiency of imported timber in China.
摘要:Radiata pine timber is one of the most important imported wood in recent years. The authors made an investigation on main allocation and primary processing techniques of Radiata pine timber in China. Status of the industry was analyzed with suggestions to solve relevant existing problems.

摘要:Three sizes(A, B and C) and 10%, 20% and 30% of usage of waste newspapers were respectively mixed with wood particle by weight and formed as center layers of composite panels. Physical and mechanical properties of specimens of the panels were evaluated. Test results showed that modulus of rupture(MOR), modulus of elasticity(MOE) and internal bonding strength(IB) of the panels increased at beginning and then decreased with increase of waste newspaper sizes, and decreased with increase of waste newspaper usage. Thickness swelling rate(TS) of the panels increased with increase of both of wastepaper size and usage.

摘要:A cone calorimeter was used to determine combustion performance of laminated composite panels made from poplar veneers and aluminum foils which were placed at different layers inside the panels. The influences of the aluminum foil’s positions on combustion characteristics of the panels were evaluated. The results showed that with symmetrical position of the aluminum foils from center to surfaces of the panels, time to ignition(TTI) of the panels was extended with lower heat release rate(HRR) and total heat released(THR) as well as reduced mass lost rate(MLR) and harmful gases(CO and CO2) released. However, it was observed that total smoke release(TSR) of the panels was increased and significantly enhanced in the later period. The laminated composite panel with aluminum foils placed close to panel surface showed better fire resistance and flame retardation.
摘要:To optimize detection conditions of wood fluorescence properties of Pterocarpus species, influence of sample requirements and observation illuminant on wood fluorescence properties were studied using fluorescence spectra, UV-vis absorption spectra and visual observations. In comprehensive consideration of wood preciousness, sample making process, fluorescence precipitation rate, fluorescence intensity and detection method universality, detection conditions were determined. The results provided a scientific test method for wood fluorescence identification of Pterocarpus species.
摘要:Acidic and alkaline silica sols were used to impregnate wood samples. Then the wood sample’s microstructure was observed using an SEM. Bending properties and thermal degradation properties of the wood samples were also tested. The results showed that silica sols could effectively permeate and fill into the sample’s pore structure. Bending properties of the samples modified with acidic silica sols, increased more than those modified with alkaline silica sols. Thermal degradation residual weights increased with decreased carbonization temperature and increased apparent activation energy, which exhibited improved flame retardance.
摘要:In this article, it was introduced of the current listed endangered timber species by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora(CITES) at the Conference of the Parties(CoP) 15 th to 17 th. The timber imports of the relevant species to China from 2013 to 2015(between CoP 16 th and 17 th) was also analyzed based on statistics data derived from the Import and Export Administration Office of Endangered Species of the People’s Republic of China. Suggestions were provided to deal with imports of CITES listed timber species in China.

摘要:Direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry(DART-MS) is a new atmospheric ionization technology under ambient temperature. It can be used in chemical investigation for solid samples in an easy, accurate, stable and direct way. Recently, DART-MS was introduced into wood forensic identification. In this paper, working principles of DART-MS and its applications in wood identification, data processing and statistical methods were reviewed to provide basic information for more scientific and precise wood identification.
摘要:According to the national standard GB 18580-2017:"Indoor decorating and refurbishing materials-Limit of formaldehyde of wood-based panels and finishing products", formaldehyde emissions from samples of engineered wood flooring and laminate flooring for ground with heating systems were measured using 1 m3-chamber method at 23 ℃, 30 ℃ and 35 ℃, respectively. Results showed: 1) with temperatures rising, formaldehyde emissions from wood-based flooring increased; 2) the samples with less than 0.06 mg/m3 of formaldehyde emissions at 23 ℃ released less than 0.124 mg/m3 formaldehyde emissions at temperature 30 ℃, which met the requirements of GB 18580-2017. Therefore, it was suggested that specification of formaldehyde emission limit for wood-based flooring for ground with heating systems be revised to less than 0.06 mg/m3 at 23 ℃.

摘要:In this paper, principles and main contents of China National Standard GB/T 35601-2017 "Green product assessment-Wood-based panels and wooden flooring" were explained in details. Promulgation and implementation of this standard is of great importance to promote transformation and upgrading of wood-based panel and wooden flooring industry in China.
摘要:In order to improve stacking efficiency and quality of sawn timber, an automatic sawn timber stacker was developed using multi-sensor information fusion. The system was composed of an inclined row structure for sawn timber pending, an automatic transmission and placement of stickers and a synchronous double-chain circulatory feeding structure. The prototype running results showed that the stacker system was feasible with stable and reliable working state and was suitable for stacking different sized sawn timber with high efficiency. The stacking quality and efficiency were superior to manual stacking.
摘要:Based on relationship between transmission coefficient of air-coupled ultrasonic wave and wood density, a new testing method for knot defect detection was developed. Experiments for detecting defects of Chinese fir specimens were conducted using a self-developed air-coupled ultrasonic imaging instrument. Results showed that the new method could be used in detecting not only visible knots on lumber surfaces, but also invisible segment defects inside lumbers.
