GAO Xin,HUANG Saisai,ZHOU Fan,et al.Wood Species, Properties and Processing Quality Requirements for Violin Manufacturing[J].Chinese Journal of Wood Science and Technology,2023,37(02):78-83.
The requirements for the main parts of violin (head, neck, resonator, bow and accessories) are summarized in terms of wood species, structure, acoustic characteristics and dimensions. The processing quality of the wooden parts for violin manufacturing are also concluded from material preparation, to wood drying and equipment processing accuracy. The main issues facing the violin manufacturing industry in China include the low quality of wood materials, insufficient application of scientific methods and analytical equipment, the outdated technologies for optimizing wood materials and the shortage of technical professionals. In response to existing problems, suggestions are proposed such as promoting the cultivating domestic high-quality resources, researching scientific evaluation methods, strengthening the development of wood modification technology and talent reserves.
