Influence of Adhesive Layer Temperature on Bonding Strength of Veneer/MDF Glued by Hot Melt Adhesives
Veneer and medium density fiberboard(MDF) samples were glued together with EVA and APAO hot melt adhesives. The effect that adhesive layer temperature in the samples had on bonding strength was evaluated. The results showed that adhesive layer temperature had significant influence on bonding strength and the temperature resistant performance of the APAO was better than that of the EVA. When the adhesive layer temperature of the EVA and APAO was lowered under 41 ℃ and 47 ℃, respectively, the both samples could be strong enough for follow-up processing. This study result could be used in splicing processing of timber framework on-line manufacturing and wood edge banding automation applications.
