Primary Study on Effect of Temperature on CCA Fixation in Wood and on Methods of Accelerating the Fixation
The effect of both treatment temperature and time on CCA fixation in wood was experimentally investigated in order to improve the fixation in CCA treated wood. The results showed that the CCA fixation rate in wood increased rapidly with a rise of temperature. It took 300 hours for 92%~94% fixation rate at ambient temperature(15~17℃)and 21~45 hours for 95%~98% at 70℃.Furthermore,it took only 9~12 horus for a complete CCA fixation by hot wet air heating process (70℃, RH 80%~83%) This process could be operated easily and can be used to reduce environmental pollution from CCA treated wood and improve the production efficiency.
